There are times in our lives when we see a place we would like to be, but also the great chasm of the unknown that lies between where we are and what we can imagine. Sometimes we choose this kind of transition, and sometimes it comes despite our attempts to push it far, far away: stepping away from a career that no longer gives life, losing a young spouse without warning, letting go of old worn-out family patterns, etc. These are times that leave us in the in-between - these are times of longing.
Longing
I long for Water
to cleanse my soul
and soak into my Being.
I long for Beauty
that takes away my words
and gives life.
I long for Silence
to enfold and embrace
the Holy Space within.
I long for Wind
to blow away the dross
and leave the fullness.
I long for Spirit,
the breath of life,
the movement of all.
I long for Courage
to step forward through fear
in the name of truth.
I long for you, O God,
in the silent presence
of your Love.
May you find presence in the midst of emptiness.
Peace, Dave

As we walk this journey of life, we come again and again to moments that challenge us to go deeper - to answer once again “Who am I?” and “Whose am I?” If we have the courage to go deep enough - into the presence-filled silence of our own deepest center - we will find that the answers come together in the one who creates and lives within.
Becoming
I am a life that is trying to be set free
a life that is trying to be lived
a life that is trying to show its face
to sing its song
to dance its dance.
I am a life trying to swim in the ocean of life
from which and out of which it was born.
I am a life being breathed by the breath of creation
by the breath of dawn
by the breath of beauty.
I am a life being called home by the voice
that spoke it into existence
that sang it into grace
that embraced it as its own.
I am the life of God becoming.
May you know the life of God coming to life in your life.
Peace, Dave
